So...

Hmmm... I guess it's time for me to get working on my blog...

Well before I completely revamp this I might as well explain a little about what I wrote.

Ваш любимый из Простоквашинo is a reference to a cartoon I watched as a child. Literally it means "Your favorite from the Butter Milk Village." The reason I used this was because when I would walk around Latvia and people would ask me where I was from, since I have a deep and prominent Hebrew accent when I speak Russian, I would tell them I'm from Простоквашинo and that would save me from having to explain my history, as I would continue down this path, jokingly. I still use it here sometimes.

Anyway, Winter vacation has started and, as always, all those ambitious hopes and tasks that I had planned, don't exactly work out, but it's nice to know what I could be doing... I've been studying Apache, MCAT material, Japanese, MySQL, and PHP these past few days in increasing order of time alloted, but I've had to travel to New York City to meet up with my Grandparents and Uncle, and will, most likely, be returning there for a second visit to celebrate the holiest of all Soviet holidays, NEW YEARS! For those reading (yes, those three, and you know who you are), New Year was and still is the biggest holiday in the former USSR. This is because it subverted all other major holidays of all the other religions, which were banned, and attempted to unite them into one holiday. In the USSR, Santa Claus was replaced with Grandfather Frost (sporting a shiny blue coat) and his daughter Snyegurachka (Girl of the Snow, a well endowed blonde). The Christmas tree was replaced with the New Year's tree. These names remain to this day as one of the many legacies of the USSR. In countries like Latvia, Russians celebrate the Moscow time New Year, which is an hour earlier in Latvia, as a sign of unity (this unity is shown through the enthusiastic barrage of fireworks spraying up to the sky from the 16 floor tenement buildings common in the USSR)....... so I rant sometimes....

Ah, anyway, that's it for now, may all of you enjoy a splendid New Year and may this upcoming year be the best one yet! Remember to make a wish at midnight!
